Sunbiz allows an existing active Florida LLC to designate one or more protected series online. The filing opened July 1, 2026 at 10 a.m.. A series LLC is not formed as a separate new entity type through the original LLC formation application.
Cost and structure
Sunbiz lists a $25 fee per protected series. When an LLC designates its first protected series, the existing LLC becomes a series LLC. Each protected series does not receive a separate Sunbiz business-document number.
